چکیده

W. Lin, H. K. Song Department of Radiology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, United States Introduction: Post-processing techniques requiring no additional navigator data have been successfully demonstrated for motion correction in MRI [1-3]. However, high computational costs typically associated with these methods have limited their application. For example, a 2-D translational correction alone could take several minutes to complete [3], and time would be much longer if rotational motion was also considered. This work proposes a new and efficient post-processing technique for motion correction, called k-space EXTRapolation And CorrelaTion (EXTRACT). For each k-space segment, the method first estimates a motion-free reference by extrapolating from a previously motion-corrected region. Motion information is then recovered by correlating the acquired motion-corrupted data with the extrapolated “motionless” data in an efficient manner. A 2-D translational motion correction is typically completed in a few seconds, regardless of the range of the motion.

Motion Compensation with Floating Navigator and GRAPPA Operators

Introduction Recent developments in partially parallel imaging (PPI) techniques provide new opportunities for motion artifact reduction [1-2]. One PPI technique that exhibits great potentials in many motion detection and correction scenarios is the GRAPPA operator [3], as the GRAPPA kernels can be flexibly positioned for k-space interpolation and extrapolation in any direction. This work propos...

Impact of PET - CT motion correction in minimising the gross tumour volume in non-small cell lung cancer

AbstractObjective: To investigate the impact of respiratory motion on localization, and quantification lung lesions for the Gross Tumour Volume utilizing an in-house developed Auto3Dreg programme and dynamic NURBS-based cardiac-torso digitised phantom (NCAT). Methods: Respiratory motion may result in more than 30% underestimation of the SUV values of lung, liver and kidney tumour lesions. The m...

Design of UWB pulse radio transceiver using statistical correlation technique in frequency domain

Abstract. In this paper, we propose a new technique to extract low power UWB pulse radio signals, near to noise level, using statistical correlation technique in frequency domain. The receiver consists of many narrow bandpass filters which extract energy either from transmitted UWB signal, interfering channels or noise. Transmitted UWB data can be eliminated by statistical correlation of multip...

تحلیل حرکت جریانات دریائی در تصاویر حرارتی سطح آب دریا

Oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. For instance Sea Surface Temperature (SST) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. The purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...
